The Netherlands Business Council (NBC) in Dubai and The Benelux Business Council (BBC) in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands have the pleasure to invite you to a round table session at the residence of H.E. Lody Embrechts, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the UAE to discuss the topic of Emiratization & Youth Involvement in the Private Sector.
In recent years most Gulf states have introduced initiatives to encourage greater employment of nationals. However, in the UAE as in other Gulf countries, there are several challenges surrounding this process and there is a need for support on both sides. With ICV, ADV and similar local content frameworks in the making for other Emirates, the need to employ Emiratis in foreign companies will only increase, and therefore, during this first session, we would like to share best practices with you and to learn from each other. Ideally, after this session, we have a clearer view of the bottlenecks, and on how employing (young) Emiratis would become more attractive to your company.
• What do companies offer and require when it comes to attracting Emiratis in their workforce? What kind of support would the companies and the Emirati employees need?
• The role of the UAE government: wage subsidies to support youth employment in the private sector? Government guarantees when investing in an Emirati trainee? Any other ideas?
With the outcomes of this session, we aim to open a dialogue with the UAE government bodies responsible for this topic. In this manner, we would like to explore how we, as the Netherlands and the UAE, can work together to make Emiratization more beneficial to both sides.
